After School Activities

MBIS After School Activities Program

For our students, the final bell is just the beginning of new opportunities to grow and explore.

Our After School Activities Program
Our After School Activities Program offers a wide range of enrichment activities in a safe and supportive environment.
Marist Brothers International School (MBIS) provides an academic experience that evolves with your child—offering a continuum of learning from the inquiry-based PYP approach in the early years to the renowned International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in high school.

The concept of ‘balance’ is embedded in our school philosophy and culture.

At MBIS, we believe balance is essential. Academic growth is just one aspect of an individual’s development— students need time to grow socially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

After School Activities Program
Our After School Activities Program reflects this philosophy by offering clubs and activities that encourage students to:
Step outside their comfort zones.
Take on new challenges.

Develop skills in areas like creativity, collaboration, and responsibility.

After School Activities Program
From sports and performing arts to STEM and cultural clubs, the MBIS After School Activities Program provides students with engaging and motivating opportunities to:
Become more inquisitive and knowledgeable.
Build stronger communication skills.
Cultivate responsibility and care for others.

Joyful Voices

We are excited to launch the Joyful Voices After School Activity with Mrs.
Yoon and Mr. Sean Rodriguez. The club is open to students in Grades 1 & 2.

The Joyful Voices is more than just singing; it’s about connecting with others, sharing stories, and feeling the rhythm that moves us. The club aligns with the Marist Tradition, embracing its musical heritage and values. No prior singing experience is necessary. Our special vocal trainer, Sean Rodriguez, along with Mrs. Yoon, will guide your child in developing their voice. Let’s nurture a love for music, rhythm, and community!

A group of children, mostly in maroon and gold cheerleading outfits with "MARIST" on the front, pose in a pyramid formation on a sports field. A boy in a gray vest and tie stands at the center, embodying the spirit of their enthusiastic international school community. They hold red and gold pom-poms.

Cheerleading Club (baton techniques)

Join the Cheerleading Club and let your creativity shine! Open to students in Grades 1 through 4, this club is perfect for anyone who wants to learn and practice baton twirling techniques.

In Block 2, we’ll focus on personalizing batons with unique designs and mastering basic twirling skills in a fun and engaging way. Students will also explore creative movements to build confidence, coordination, and teamwork.

Whether you’re new to baton twirling or have some experience, this club is all about having fun, learning new skills, and expressing yourself through twirling! In future after-school activity blocks, we hope to use the skills learned in this club in potentiel future After-School Activities Cheerleading clubs.

Two children wearing maroon sports uniforms joyfully high-five on a tennis court at an international school in Japan. One holds a tennis racket, and both appear excited and happy.

Tennis Club

Tennis Club, under the coordination of Mrs. Yoon and Ms. Takagi, and in collaboration with Coach Kawaguchi, a representative tennis player from Hyogo prefecture, presents an exciting opportunity for our Marist students.

This club aims to enhance students’ physical strength, agility, and flexibility
while fostering new friendships across different grades. No prior experience is necessary; if your child possess enthusiasm for
learning and a willingness to explore, we wholeheartedly invite your child to join! Throughout the sessions, we’ll engage in activities such as running,
swinging, reaching, jumping, and sharing laughter.

The Marist Tennis Club warmly welcomes students from Grades 1 to 5 to be part of this enriching experience. Returning Tennis Club members (from 2023/24 school year) have spots reserved in this year’s Block 1 tennis club, meaning there are 7 new places available in Tennis Club.

We encourage parents to drive heir child to the Shioya Country Club after school if possible. If not, Ms. Takagi and Mrs. Yoon will accompany students to the Shioya Country Club from MBIS by taking the Sanyo Train and walking the remainder of the way.

Students must come with correct money for the train ticket. This is the route students will take when walking with Ms. Yoon & Ms.
Takagi.

After the session, parents must pick up their child at 5:15pm or students can ride a train back home with parental consent. We look forward to making fantastic memories together! Please note that students will need to bring their own tennis racket and water in order to participate in Tennis Club.
