Board Auditor Position (Volunteer Position)

The MBIS Board is currently seeking expressions of interest for the position of Board Auditor for an immediate start. The tenure will end 31 July 2025.

For the Auditor position, it would be ideal to have some experience in law or accounting. They do not need to live in close proximity to the School, but they should be available to attend meetings either online or on campus. An understanding of Japanese and English would be desirable.

Auditors attend the regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees which is approximately 12 days of meetings a year, and possibly more if the extraordinary meetings are called to facilitate business. They observe and oversee the procedures and activities of the Directors, and help explain Japanese laws by becoming familiar with the rules and regulations given by Hyogo Prefecture and the Education Ministry of Japan. They participate in the fiscal year audit with assistance to approve the financial actions of the School.

With growth in student numbers and building developments in progress, it is a particularly exciting time to be an Auditor at Marist Brothers International School.
