Welcome to Marist Brothers International School (MBIS), Kobe, Japan.

When it comes to your child’s education, choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. So, it’s only natural to wonder “What makes a good school?” For me, it’s the people—passionate teachers who truly care about their students, learners with their unlimited capacity to learn and grow, and finally, families whose trust and contributions to our community we deeply value and don’t take for granted.

Located in the beautiful seaside residential area of Kobe, MBIS is central in the Kansai region and easily accessible by public transport. Here, students from around the world experience the highest of academic standards and pastoral care within an inclusive and welcoming community.
From the inquiry-based Primary Years Programme (PYP) in the early years to the renowned International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in high school, MBIS provides an education that grows with your child. Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), our academic programs nurture curiosity, resilience, and compassion—attributes that help students reach their academic potential while developing their life skills.
At MBIS, teaching goes far beyond academic results. Sports, the arts, and community service are an integral part of the balanced education we offer to learners. Guided by our Marist values, we create an environment where students are able to explore their interests, embrace challenges, and build lifelong connections. We ultimately help them develop good character and grow into well-rounded individuals.
I am fortunate to be part of your child’s educational journey and it is a real privilege to witness their growth.

I invite you to explore our website to learn more about MBIS. I also encourage you to book a personalized tour of our school. After experiencing our classroom environment and facility, and meeting our students and teachers, many families decide to join us because they see happy and kind students in a caring environment and want the same for their children.

Come visit our school—we’d love to meet you.
Warm regards,
