Marist Brothers International School (MBIS) is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum School offering the IB PYP, MYP, and DP.

WASC is a California-based accrediting agency (one of the six regional agencies in the United States), working with schools in the United States and around the world to ensure students receive a well-rounded, high-quality education. Furthermore, as an IB World School, MBIS provides a full IB continuum.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. MBIS is a proud member of East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) and Japan Council of International Schools (JCIS)

MBIS is a member school of EARCOS—an organization with over 160 member-schools throughout the region and JCIS, one of 31 member schools. JCIS exists to promote, support and sustain quality English medium schools serving the international community in Japan through an educational framework which is international in both style and substance. Schools applying for membership to JCIS must meet several important criteria including stability, continuity, professionalism and an explicit commitment to internationalism. Education must be provided in English.

The Japan Council of International Schools (JCIS) is a non-profit association that includes 30 international schools operating in Japan. JCIS exists to promote, support, and sustain quality English medium schools serving the international community in Japan through an educational framework which in international in both style and substance. 
JCIS member schools must meet a number of important criteria including stability, continuity, professionalism, and an explicit commitment to internationalism.

MBIS is authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme

Marist Brothers International School is an authorized IB Continuum School offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Middles Years Programme (MYP), as well as the Diploma Programme (DP) in grade 11-12. IB World Schools share a common philosophy – a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education – that we believe is important for our students.
